Project Description

The National, located in the heart of West Los Angeles, CA, is a prestigious multi-unit residential project that exudes modernity and sophistication. Coupling architectural design with interior aesthetics, the property offers a blend of functionality and style, presenting a comfortable living environment with state-of-the-art amenities. Our team has meticulously crafted each unit to promote space efficiency and natural light, creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. LA-A was tasked with renovating this four-story condominium building that was originally constructed in the early 1980s. The goal was to give it a more modern look and enhance its curb appeal. To achieve this, LA-A collaborated with MEP and LEED consultants, as well as a landscape architect.

The building consists of 11 two-bedroom apartments, each featuring an open floor plan, 2-3 bathrooms, high-end cabinetry, and state-of-the-art appliances.

Challenges and Solutions

One of the primary obstacles we faced was transforming the fragmented unit layouts into an open floor plan while also enhancing the functionality of the balconies. Due to the presence of load-bearing walls, we had to strategically replace them with smaller structural columns to achieve the best possible outcome. This meticulous approach ensured optimal results in terms of both aesthetics and functionality.
